Like this bar! It was one of those kids selling for their grand parents type thing, they just wanted it gone. I was glad to take it and clean it up. It will look amazing in my future place :)

Playing Catch up!
Well... The holidays and school have kept me pretty busy. I haven't been going to the estate sales like I used to either. I have limited space to store the marvelous finds so I've cut back. But between my last post (supposed to have been September 13th) and now I have found some great new pieces!

Butterworth St. SW Grand Rapids Sale
So I went to an interesting estate sale, it was an old store front on the SW side, lower part of the building was apparently a pet grooming business and upstairs the residence. It was such an old building, but full of mid century just waiting to be discovered. People swooped in fast and bought up the furniture, I saw this Bassett Regency bedroom set in the photos but I didn't think I wanted it until I saw it in person and saw the sold sticker (of course) oh well. I should be content with my two mid century bedroom suits!
Yepp, I bought this Royal Haeger mermaid planter, the price was great and I have honestly never seen anything like it. It's amazing other people swoop in to grab the furniture and I swoop in for pottery.
I saw this covered in dust and thought how often do you see a mint pyrex casserole with a trivet stand and with that design. I'm not a pyrex expert, but I know my pyrex designs, this one was out of the ordinary. Apparently according to Corelle Corner and online resource for collectors of Pyrex/Corning this piece is a promotional piece only released in late 1969 and early 1970.
Other than these items I bought newer stuff that I will end up needing eventually!
Edit: this poor post got lost in the shuffle, I thought it got posted and it didn't :( this was originally a sale September 13th! Oops.
Garage Sale hit and miss (Literally??)
So I went garage saling...
Those finds are apparently meant to be taken home because they survived!! I can't believe it. A few other things were ruined, but nothing from that days garage sales.

Busy busy busy!
Yes it has been quite awhile, but I have found some great "new" finds!
Pyrex Primary Colors bowls and a Cooke refrigerator dishes.
This great oil painting by BRENT. Originally purchased at Kresge's. Price tag is still on the back :)
To be honest I have found so many odds and ends I don't know that I will have time to post them all! I hit a sale of a hoarder... Literally everything was still in the original boxes from Turnstyle, Kresge's, Woolco, Meijer, Wurzberg (local department store), and Herpolsheimer's (local department store). I spent way too much money there. I thought I would make a quick post of some of my highlights!

Garage Sales and Hidden Estate Sales
I had the intent of going garage saling today, which worked out great, because I found some hidden estate sales, you know those ones that are basically garage sales but they are all vintage stuff they are trying to get rid of for mom and dad? Yeah I found some of those. My whole day ended up setting me back $3. I also hit a barn sale the day before and found some great finds there too.
From the barn sale:
I have always admired these industrial metal '50s lamps. I figure it will go in my office and match my industrial desk lamp!
Never have seen one of these before, a vintage chrome towel rack? Yes please!
Now for the garage sales:
This little guy is going to be GREAT! I'm so happy about this find.
Still in the box with manuals and warranty (yeah that's useful)
Sears electric knife, with an awesome Starburst on the handle. They had two vintage ones at the sale, this one, and another that was still in original packing which looks of a higher quality. I decided to buy both. This one would look cool mounted (minus the blades of course someone would think I was crazy, not that they didn't already buying two electric knives!) and the other one for actual use.
Can you say Woolco in original packaging?
I also saw this and thought it was gorgeous as I was driving through the neighborhoods.
I admit I did skip posting my finds from another sale, I have been so busy. I only found a vintage Montgomery Wards bun warmer and some vintage Christmas lights, so it's not totally worth posting just a couple items.

Vintage Tissue Paper?
Yeah... I went there. Vintage tissue paper. I found a package at a sale in February or March, and thought I would share the prints.
That one is my fav ^^
Second fav ^^
Kind of a neat selection of vintage tissue paper.

Rockford Estate Sale Day 2
Second days of great estate sales are the best... Can you say 50% off? Things that didn't look interesting the first day look great the second day (lol). I ended up purchasing some smalls, a couple more milk glass pieces, a great Italian wine glass 24 piece set for a mere $10. I also bought this amazing little baby....
The chrome polished up immaculate. The box comes with the original manual and warranty... Hmm I wonder if that still stands? Hah.
